Located within Perth’s iconic Old Swan Brewery, internal spaces were stripped back to expose the building original identity.

Maintaining the exposed architectural fabric DesignPaper adapted three different levels to accommodate this modern Philanthropic organisation of 240 staff.

A broad internal staircase was added to connect levels 1&2 which highly activated the working floors. The built environment is kept to a minimum with an open communicative environment punctuated by flexible pavilions each with a different purpose. Level 3 is a flexible open space with a variety of different functions from a Kids zone, commercial kitchen, end of trip space facility and a multifunction space. The design expresses the importance of community, one which s healthy, harmonious and thriving! WA’s artist cultural vibrancy is promoted with an indigenous program and materiality, reflecting a strong sense of place.
